Addressing the Issues
that Matter to You
Three key issues are at the heart of my campaign:
-
Delivering Services You Care About
-
Ensuring the Future through Smart Planning and Action
-
Addressing Housing Issues
I am optimistic that together we can build a stronger, more vibrant and sustainable city.
Delivering Services You Care About
We have an amazing city with an extensive network of bike paths and greenbelts, a Farmer’s Market that draws people from all over the region, music, art, and a world-class university. Many of us came here to live or stayed here after graduating from UC Davis because we appreciate the quality of life Davis offers. If re-elected, I consistently dedicate myself to ensuring that we keep and enhance what makes Davis so unique.
Responsible Planning for the Future
Our City faces many challenges and opportunities in the coming years: tackling climate change by implementing the Climate Action Adaptation Plan (CAAP), revitalizing our downtown through our updated downtown plan, and planning for our future through a general plan update. Based on my many years of professional and city commission experience I have the skillset to best serve the community through these crucial processes. To achieve these goals, I will be a leader in fiscal resiliency, community engagement, and climate action. Since I joined council last year we have embarked on our General Plan update and have already made great strides in implementing our Downtown Plan.
Tackling Housing Issues
It’s no secret that we have a national housing crisis and housing is unaffordable for far too many. The median home price in Davis is $890,000—we need to work hard to make housing more available and more affordable in Davis. The solutions are not simple, and they require us to work together to find common ground concerning the vision for our city’s future. If re-elected, I will continue to address issues related to housing availability and affordability. I have also been working hard with community members to address concerns related to our daytime respite center for individuals who are experiencing homelessness.
